Poem: Baptise Me In Colours

Updated: Apr 22, 2022

The world around us contains an elixir of euphoria - a divine poison that induces love, happiness, and exultation. Each and every little thing that we happen to witness in this world of ours, has been created, crafted, and fashioned by the Almighty with His loving touch, filled with divine graces.

Every little thing has a reason of its own. A tale of its own. A colour of its own.

Who wants to live in a world without a sense of inclusion? Living our lives, cherishing and relishing all the different shades of coulours - colours which denote beauty, unity and diversity, should be celebrated in unison.

Yes, they can baptise you, and this baptism is universal.

Baptise Me In Colours

O ye Lord, baptise me in colours

For I don’t want to see the world without - Red, Blue, Green

The flame that burns with the Yellowish tint

The angry-eyed look of the Brownish full moon

They all look up to thee, trying to tell a tale

Sending their prayers, may be never go pale

The little Red rose, singing in the garden

The tyranny of a blank page, as White as a marble

They beseech thee O Lord, don’t turn them down

For the colours are all they have, they live up to it

Dulcifying the chaos, through their effulgent tint

O ye Lord, grant them Thy mannas

Send them some more heaven-sent hues

May the Black and the White, bury their hatchet

A truce for yesteryears, and the years to come

When the Grey clouds deluge a heavenly shower

Painting a multi-coloured arc stretching across the sky

There are no straight rainbows, none you can find

The bends and the arcs are what maketh them

O ye Lord, You envisaged this world

I know you don’t want these colours to fade

O ye Lord, baptise me in colours

Baptise me in the beauty of Thy radiant shades
