Each one of us has someone of our own - someone who is ever-willing to go that extra mile just to be there for you. In this overwhelmingly senseless society, you are bound to find that 'someone' who instils a touch of meaning and sense to your life - but only if you look hard enough.
This is a poem about hope. It looks for 'human' in humanity, 'sense' in senselessness, and 'help' in helplessness. It reverberates the fact that you are neither alone in this world, nor will you ever be. There's always a face to count upon. Always. Just don't give up.
There's Always a Face
There’s always a face, lost in the crowd
Calling out your name, clear and loud
You need that face to stand by your side
Be there for you, and make your burdens light
But how can you speak, when you have so much to hide?
So you burn the bridge, keep them out of your sight
While your heart and your head are busy in a fight
While your mind plays games, every day and every night
But you know you don’t need an intruder in your life
Breaking in, barging in, like a robber with a knife
But the Intruder doesn’t always have to break in
Sometimes, they have the keys, too afraid to sin
Give them a chance; you’ll get to know why
They'll never run of tissues, no matter how hard you cry
They'll pull you up, when you are lost and down
They'll make you the King, with an imaginary crown
They'll walk beside you - through the smooth and rough
But you'll only find them, when you look hard enough
